Compton Verney

Autumn 2015 saw Elc contractors ltd awarded a prestigious contract at Compton Verney, Warwickshire.


The brief for the contract was for restoration of historic paths, boardwalks and dredging works in the Capability Brown landscape park in the light of Capability Brown celebrating 200 years since implementing his landscape architecture on many large properties across England.

A French drain was installed on the upper side of the slope to take water away from path surface preventing scouring/ erosion of the wearing course.

 

Sides of the path ways were landscaped with screened topsoil and seeded.The purpose of the topsoil was to protect the shallow outer edge of the path.

Dredging Work

As part of the contract an area of silt was cleared in preparation to install a dipping platform at waters edge. Bog mats were essential to allow access onto the platform of silt for works to progress.

National trust Hanbury Hall Lodge gates

Hanbury Hall 1This project, part of the Higher level Stewardship a Scheme in place at the estate was to replicate the original style of gates which were in situ from around 1850.The old gates were removed and all ironwork was shot blasted and repaired to be re fitted to the new gates.

Tree guard construction at Croome Park for National Trust

tree guard croombeSome 300 tree guards were constructed by us to contain specimen trees on the Capability Brown landscape restoration at Croome Park, Worcestershire.

NIA Project

ELC 1As part of the NIA (Nature improvement area) project across the Black Country Elc Contractors Ltd were successful in winning woodland management thinning operations over  sites in the Woodgate Valley, Sedgley Beacon, Warley Woods and Sandwell Valley country park in the winter and spring of 2013 / 2014.
